Remove netting from can and set aside.

The BACK…has the hinge to the right and rear supporting rods mounted on the L Bracket.

Caution: Use care whenever moving the telescoping rods!!

When extending or contracting rods PLEASE move approximate 2 sections at a time and not by the top. This can cause bending and breakage. These telescoping rods are custom made specifically for this device. Breakage is possible if you attempt to move too many rod sections at once.

EXERCISE CARE as this is the heart of the system and is inspected for fit and function prior to shipment.

  1. Remove the container lid if you prefer.
  2. Rotate the rear rod 90 degrees horizontally, then rotate the L Bracket to the back. Extend the rods fully using caution not to pull too hard as they can break. They fit into the rear corner just beyond vertical on two axis (the side & rear).
  3. Rotate the front rods up past vertical and into position but do not extend yet.
  4. Open the netting with the wire at the top on three sides and the hem tape inside. The Backstop is the Outer Most part which places all 4 rods inside the backstop.
  5. Straighten the wire and insert each rear end of the two sides into the rear rod tips. Look closely as there are small holes to accommodate the wire. The netting rests outside the rear rods.
  6. Place the rear horizontal support wire eyeholes over the side wire tips that extend through the rear rod tips. See fig.1.
  7. At each end of the netting is a pocket made to slip over the front rods and loops that also fit over the front rods. Use the loops for faster setup and the pocket for the best possible fit. Do so while extending the front rods until they are all the way on with the tip of the net, near the tip of the rod at each end.
  8. Place the front tips of both sides through the front rod tip holes and add the wire cap See fig.2 for safety. (squeeze cap to tighten)
  9. Smooth out the netting and adjust the support wires while placing the bottom of the net outside the can.
  10. Device is ready to suck up your brass.
  11. Place unit with respect to shooter and the firearm ejection line. Each firearm line, weapon height, shooters height, and length and angle of ejection is different, so you must locate the correct proximity to the net for each individual person and firearm. Typically the distance ranges around 12" or so.
  12. Take a few shots and move your spot according to the ejection path until you hit the effective area. This is a HUGE Funnel and you will find your sweet spot quite quickly.
  13. Disassembly is in the reverse order….DO NOT FORGET to use CAUTION when contracting the rods and rotating them into the can.

TIP: Place the can on the ground to set up and takedown the device if you are height challenged as the rest of us.

If there is not a shooting bench or it is too low for the ejection path of the casing…attach a tripod to the already available mounting hole at the mid point of the can bottom. It will accommodate a camera tripod and can be placed on the ground or on the bench for extreme height. You may have to remove the can lid for balance.

Sometimes the weather doesn’t accommodate us and the wind really blows. Put some weight into the can for anchorage. I personally carry all my ammo in the can along with my safety glasses and hearing protection. There is plenty of room with the brass in the can.

The critical change has been made for BUBCA that will pin the support rods See fig.3 set in their respective corners as required.

This is also available for retrofit to earlier BUBCA's, where the shipping expense is on the owner. However, if you are mechanically inclined you may perform the fit yourself. Using Caution not to weaken the support rod with a hole too large or not centered properly.

The next critical change for BUBCA has now been made. The Extreme Wind Table Clamp and Components has now been added to the available parts list as an option, that will fit any BUBCA for the purpose of locking the system to the table and the support rods in place during extreme wind conditions (commonly found at Camp Perry National Matches). The wind system has been tested in 30mph winds and has passed without issue. Photos are provided on the website showing the components. See fig.4

There is an optional change to the system height. The telescoping support rods do not have to be extended fully, which which offers you to set the height that you prefer. The optional Cover Stop Netting closes the open top allowing you to shorten the height to further retard windy conditions. See fig.5. The ejected brass will hit the inside cover net and deflect to the rear netting and then down into the can.

Just another BUBCA system improvement that we continuously re-evaluate so the consumer gets the best product available to the shooting industry.
